Another FDLR officer defects

Capt. Damien Kwizera, a member of the Democratic Liberation Forces of Rwanda (FDLR) militia, has joined other senior members in defecting from the outlawed group.FDLR is mainly comprised of perpetrators of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, which was declared a terrorist group by the United Nations.Kwizera, 41, abandoned the outfit and returned to Rwanda on April 15, after 17 years in the Congolese jungles.His return was facilitated by the United Nations Mission in the DRC (MONSUCO).
