Rwanda up for two environmental awards

Rwanda has been nominated for both this year’s Energy Globe Award as well as the Future Policy Award in recognition of its environmental protection policies.A project by a local women’s association to remove water hyacinth in Lake Bugesera, has been selected for the Energy Globe Award in the ‘Water’ category. Water hyacinth makes fishing almost impossible while increasing the prevalence of malaria.
