Police handball side only have their eyes set on retaining the league title when the new season commences on February 25. The law enforcers are the reigning champions of the 2022 handball league and club head coach Antoine Ntabanganyimana said that the ambition remains the title ahead 2023 season. “As we won the last cup in 2022, we want to win this year's championship so that we represent Rwanda in the champions league that will take place in Brazzaville in October,” Ntabanganyimana told Times Sport. “We have everything to win the title and we are well prepared,” he added Police conduct their training sessions twice a day in Kimisagara. The men’s 2023 handball league will bring together nine teams namely Police, Gicumbi, APR, Adegi-Gituza, ES Kigoma, Vision Jeunesse Nouvelle, College Saint Martin Hanika, UR-Huye and Nyakabanda. Meanwhile, seven teams which include Kiziguro, Gicumbi, Three Stars, Nyamasheke, GS Kitabi, UR-Rukara and UR-Huye will be competing in the women’s handball championship.
