The Turkish fashion clothing retailer, LC (Les Copains) Waikiki has announced its entry into the Rwandan market as part of its growth strategy in Africa. The company signed an agreement with Kigali Business Centre (KBC) to lease space of approximately 1,100 square meters for its store, according to a statement issued on August 22. With this, the Turkish clothing giant is presented with an opportunity to enter the Rwandan retail market and be part of the rapid economic growth, tapping into the business opportunities created from the enabling environment, it read. Sevda Bilen, Regional Manager, LC Waikiki, said they were pleased to position themselves at KBC and thus bringing its amazing offering closer to the Rwandan people. “We are excited about this opportunity and, although it is our first store in Rwanda, there are more to come, she added. The entry in Rwanda is an additional outlet for this world’s leading fashion retail brands in Africa, with a presence in Kenya, Zambia, Uganda, and Namibia. The Istanbul-based retail chain operates more than 1,200 stores globally in 351 cities on three continents and has almost 50,000 employees. Founded in 1988, LC Waikiki continues to grow for 32 years both in Turkey and abroad. It opened its first store outside Turkey in 2009 in Romania, and since then has expanded rapidly across the globe.
