First Indo-Rwanda Nite leaves spectators yearning for more

Petit Stade, Remera, was on Saturday night the scene of captivating Rwandan and Indian music. The event, Indo-Rwanda Nite, was well organsied and pulled a big crowd, despite the rain and cold weather. With the state-of-the-art stage design, complete with incredible lighting and stunning performances, the audience was in for a treat. The concert kicked off at 6:30 p.m with DJ mixes. As the music blasted out of the speakers, children and adults abandoned their seats and joined the artists on the dance floor. One of the biggest highlights of the concert was when Indian guest artists, Amar Singh performed ‘Waka Waka’ the official song for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, with Sodhi Singh belting out ‘Jai Ho’, among other songs. Even more amazing was the fact that local musicians matched the Indians’ performance when they were given the chance to showcase what they had. With their great talent, they managed to excite the crowd with great renditions. The show featured local stars such as, Jack B, Jay Polly, Makonikoshwa, Ras Kayaga, Jean Pierre Runyurana and Natty Dread and two famed DJs from Kenya and Mombasa.To say the artists gave their all is an understatement. They rocked. From the first scene to the last, people were entertained by the energetic dancers and their incredible music. Impressed with the success of the first event, MAS Entertainment Ltd, the official organiser of Indo-Rwanda Nite, reiterated that they will be organising similar events every quarter.
