Employees need to be paid on time

Editor, You might have been affected by this problem, between February and the beginning of March, this year, where employees have made unyielding long queues- only to be told that the money has not yet been deposited on your account! What a shock to landlords and breadwinners! You probably begin to think of what to tell your landlord or children at home. Some landlords are polite but others are not.I call it unyielding because you are subjected to sit until you are told the usual story that your account balance is zero. I believe, most of you, while reading this letter, may realise that many individuals have been affected in one way or the other. Many times, we are told by bank officers that the cause is the new payment system (SIPPS) that was introduced before people could realize the shortcomings associated with it. Yes, technology is a welcome development but all we want is to be technologically vibrant. Bank customers should have been communicated to at least a month before, so that they can get prepared for salary delays. Recently, I talked to some of the customers at one bank, only to find out they are being offered bank overdrafts to clear their accumulated bills. Any how, this is a bitter experience.
