I am on a trip to Nairobi and this trip has benefited me in more ways than one. One of the few trips outside this town was to a very small town to visit elderly parents of a dear friend, and it was while I was waiting for my friend to pick me up that thirst got the better of me and I wandered around looking for a place where I could get a bottle of mineral water to quench my thirst. I entered a nearby mall and stumbled upon a very small café and my heart told me to go inside and ask what exactly they were offering since the only things I could see were fresh fruits, vegetables, a huge blending machine and glasses. The owner of the business was very kind to me to answer all my queries. It so happened that the place sells only fresh juice mixed with raw vegetables for medicinal purposes. I was overjoyed to hear such a thing and immediately ordered for the specialty of the house which was carrot mixed with wheat grass and a little bit of garlic. I have never heard of wheat grass before and I was given a book to read while I was taking my juice. The book has true stories of people who have been prescribed to take any fresh juice mixed with wheat grass and it worked miracles! According to these stories people with cancer have been healed after religiously consuming wheat grass juice. I was going to be in town for seven days so I ordered five litres of wheat grass juice to be made just for me, to go back with in Nairobi where I will be taking two glasses a day. I want to be as healthy as possible when I jet in back home.As I came to find out is that wheat grass is a great source of cure to many illnesses, we all know that the brain and other tissues function best when they are in a highly oxygenated environment which wheat grass does this. The high chlorophyll content of wheatgrass juice causes increased Haemoglobin production in the body which increases the oxygen carrying capabilities of the blood. The increased capability of the blood to carry oxygen has a number of health benefits including purification of the blood, improving blood sugar disorders, helping combat toxins such as carbon monoxide and other traffic pollutants, cigarette smoke and heavy metals that can get into the blood. Wheatgrass juice’s high vitamin content is also of benefit to some skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis and also helps give your hair a healthy look. Wheatgrass is also said to benefit dandruff problems. In fact wheatgrass juice has cancer preventing properties due to its carcinogen and toxin neutralizing abilities. For the last one week that I have taken the wheat grass juice, I have realized that my energy levels have gone up, my skin is clearer even though I have always maintained a good skin, colds and chronic sinusitis that I experience because of my asthmatic condition have been controlled. For once in many years I slept like a baby after four days of taking wheat grass juice. I never take anything for granted in my life, I treat every opportunity as my last, and I have purchased the wheat seeds hoping to grow the wheat grass my self back home.
