The Office of the First Lady has named Jeanne d'Arc Gakuba as the new senior advisor to First Lady Jeannette Kagame. The change was announced during the annual Imbuto Foundation general assembly, which brings together its members and staff. During the same event, Radegonde Ndejuru, formerly the Imbuto director-general, was bade farewell as she headed into retirement. Diana Louise Ofwona was announced as the successor of Rita Zirimwabagabo in the position of Vice President at Imbuto Foundation. Today, I hope we can dig deeper into performance, in the areas that need further interventions, renewed support, or simply, greater effort, the First Lady said at the assembly. She added, Thank you for continuing to support our pursuit of Excellence, Integrity, Solidarity, Commitment and Innovation as values to uphold in all of our interventions, and daily work. In a tribute to the outgoing senior staff, Jeannette Kagame said, “(Radegonde) may Imbuto always remain your home, to (Gakuba) who we warmly welcome, the Senior Advisor Mantle has been passed to you. To Rita Zirimwabagabo, thank you for your immense service and welcome Diane Ofwona, our new first vice chair.” Responding to the message, Ndejuru expressed gratitude to First Lady Jeannette Kagame, citing the humbling opportunities she was accorded with upon returning to Rwanda. “I would like to express my most sincere gratitude to President Paul Kagame and First Lady Jeannette Kagame for the humbling opportunities they gave me, to, upon my return to a country I had left in torment in 1973, serve the nation that I love. What an honor it has been.
