KIGALI - The IBUKA Congress, yesterday, elected new board members. IBUKA is an umbrella organisation for Genocide survivors’ associations in the country. Dr. Jean Pierre Dusingizemungu was elected President, replacing Theodore Simburudari, who has been at helm of the organisation for four years Speaking to The New Times, last evening, Simburudari said he is happy for the new committee and he hopes it will take the organisation to the next level. “It is in our constitution to hold elections every four years and the leaders we chose are capable of further developing our organization,” he added. Dusingizemungu has been a commissioner in the National Commission for the Fight against Genocide (CNLG). Other board members include, Egide Nkuranga, 1st Vice president, Claire Gatayire, the 2nd Vice president and Theophile Kimonyo, the Secretary General. Ends
