ORINFOR names Karega ‘Most Media Friendly’ Gov’t official

KIGALI - The Minister of Infrastructure, Vincent Karega, was, Friday, received the Most M edia Friendly Politician Award from the Rwanda Information Office (ORINFOR). In the same event, other media friendly politicians were also recognized. as a way of motivating its partners, ORINFOR also gave out Best Customer Awards which will be an annual event. Other politicians awarded for being media friendly include, former Northern Province Governor Boniface Rucagu, police chief Emmanuel Gasana, REMA’S Dr. Rose Mukankomeje, and State Minister of Secondary and Primary education, Mathias Harebamungu. Those recognised were nominated by ORINFOR employees. “These politicians you have seen received our calls, committed to their time whenever we needed them, be it day or night, in the city or up country, they gave us the right information,” said Willy Rukundo, the acting Director General of ORINFOR. ORINFOR also awarded the best customers of the year which saw Rwanda Health communications, TIGO and PSI-Rwanda scooping trophies The event, the first of its kind, also recognized members of,the public who interacted with ORINFOR journalists on a regular basis. Speaking at the event, the overseer of the Ministry of Information, Protais Musoni, said it was a noble gesture on the part of ORINFOR to get closer to its audience. He added that this was going to help the institution build a good foundation to further develop a business mentality and compete with the yet to come and available media houses. Ends
