Dear Editor, The norm that students have to bend low for teachers should be based upon tangible reasons. Lately, some teachers seem to take their students for granted. It’s quite recurrent that teachers want to keep their students down even if the latter are right. Some teachers have insisted on canning their students for reasons that don’t suffice. It is also common talk that some teachers sexually abuse their students in the name of giving them better marks in return. Girls that have contracted Sexually Transmitted Diseases and HIV/Aids in this regard are countless. Let teachers focus on ways to improve students’ performance other than acquiring nicknames of the best bully or molester. KACYIRU
