Everybody should have their day in court

Editor,I was impressed when I read in yesterday’s issue of  The New Times that a Member of Parliament, Alexandre Ashinzwuwera, was arrested for allegedly assaulting his 12 year old brother and seriously injuring him. Whereas I am not surprised that the law caught up with this MP (I have known and seen for a fact that in Rwanda, the law catches up with anyone regardless of their rank or religion), I was disturbed by the fact that the offender this time round is an MP (a lawmaker) who should have known better.
