EASTERN PROVINCE RWAMAGANA — Compassion International, a Christian organization, has donated tools for career development to 94 youths from the Eastern Province. The tools donated include 56 sewing machines, 8 carpentry tool boxes, 14 mechanics’ tool boxes and 16 welding tool boxes. Speaking at the hand-over ceremony, the head of Compassion Clusters and Compassion projects in the Eastern province Pastor Constantin Gasore said, “Each sewing and tool-box is meant for one individual, meaning that the number of machines and tool-boxes correspond to the number of beneficiaries.” The ceremony was held at Restoration Church in Rwamagana last week. Gasore also explained that Compassion runs 38 projects grouped under six clusters. He also said that on average, between 9,000 and 10,000 pupils are benefiting from these projects where Compassion spends about Frw2 million on these projects per month. Pastor Jean de Dieu Twagirayezu, from Compassion said that the organisation runs 141 projects around the country sponsoring more that 37,000 pupils. Ends
