Rwandan beauteous, Nadege Uwamahoro, graces our cover, looking beautiful and stunning with her dazzling attire and hair style. From the look of things, her life seems to be stress-free and ready to take her career to a better level. She seems like a normal creative, innovative, optimistic and trendy youth planning her future. Uwamahoro’s appearance on the cover coincides with the beginning of her new career as an Event Organiser and the launch of her debut fashion show, scheduled for February 13, on Valentine’s Day Eve at Lemigo Hotel, Kimihurura. Even as the model matures and comes full circle with her career, the media will continue to expound upon her natural beauty. She has already appeared on Rwanda television (RTV), advertising Revlon products and, can undoubtedly look forward to gracing more glamorous opportunities for the same cause. Uwamahoro has been able to find mainstream success in the country’s budding fashion industry and her most notable breakthrough was in 2008, when she appeared on stage for the first time as a model and managed to impress the audience. The 21-year old fashionista is a capable model, event organizer and is also into protocol—having worked with big corporate companies, including ServiceMag, MTN and Tigo. In a lengthy interview, Uwamahoro talks about her childhood and passion for modelling.The young female entrepreneur said: “After working for different modelling agencies, including Chris Special Line and Amalant, I decided to start my own company ‘Nana Events’.” She emphasized that smartness is in her blood and her passion for modelling began when she was still little.Uwamahoro, born July 27, 1990 in the Burundian capital of Bujumbura, said her greatest inspiration into fashion was her late mother. “My mother was trendy and tidy. Our neighbours admired her choice of colours and sense of style.” “She was very creativite and dressed me stylishly, thus the background helped me to develop love for fashion.” Uwamahoro encourages Rwandans to embrace the culture of smartness and fashion. She says that she believes physical appearance matters; noting that a shabby person can hardly deliver suitable services to the costumers. “Rwanda is a country where people are being sensitised on the importance of customer care, but they should as well be taught how to be trendy,” Uwamahoro urged. She also requested Rwandans and corporate companies to empower young entrepreneurs by supporting their activities. Uwamahoro’s hobbies are jogging, walking, watching movies, listening to music and hanging out with friends. The model disclosed her love for children: “I love kids so much! I remember when I was a little girl, when a neighbour gave birth, I pestered my mother to allow me stay with them and carry their newly born baby.” Ends
