Fidel Rwigamba, a member of Parliament representing RPF-Inkotanyi in the Chamber of Deputies on Wednesday, February 15 died of illness at the age of 73 at King Faisal Hospital where he was receiving treatment. His brother Camille Karamaga confirmed the news, adding that the deceased passed on at 9:30am but could not provide any details at the time of publication. Speaker Donatille Mukabalisa, on behalf of the Chamber of Deputies, issued a statement of condolences to the bereaved family. Rwigamba has been a parliamentarian since 2013 and was also elected to the Pan-African Parliament (PAP) in the same year. Prior to that, he served as the secretary-general in the Senate from 2009 to 2013 and also as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Public Service and Labour in 2003. In 2001, he was in charge of coordinating government action in the office of the Prime Minister.
