As Rwanda drops further in latest Fifa rankings RWANDA has dropped further in the latest Fifa rankings. With 171 points, the country is now 135th, one slot worse than they were last month.On the continent, they languish in 36th position after dropping five places. Neighbors Uganda also dropped three places to 86th but still top the Cecafa charts.Sudan, the second ranked Cecafa team, dropped six places to 106 while Tanzania and Ethiopia tie in 123rd spot.Kenya dropped two places to 127. Rwanda’s Group D opponents in the upcoming Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) Angola dropped 19 places to 107 while Senegal rose one place to 69.World Cup quarterfinalist Ghana has replaced African champions Egypt as the top ranked nation on the African continent. The West Africans, who are ranked 15th in the world, gained an extra 16 points from 924 in December.Ivory Coast is second (26) while Egypt is third. The Pharaohs have lost more ground after dropping 23 slots to 33. But the surprise package in the top ten is Burkina Faso (5th), which comes ahead of Cameroon, Guinea and South Africa. Nigeria, who are trying to rebuild are 4th in Africa and 40th in the world. Madagascar remains the worst placed African team in the world with a ranking of 155. At the top of the Fifa charts are World Cup winners Spain followed by Netherlands, Germany, Brazil, Argentina and England respectively. United States, 18th, lead the way for CONCACAF.Japan have re-entered the top 20 following their fourth Asian Cup victory in history. The Blue Samurai have climbed 12 positions and now sit 17th in the ranking. Finalists Australia went up five places to 21st spot, while fourth-placed Uzbekistan were this month’s highest climbers (77th, up 31).Of Fifa’s 208 members, Sao Tome and Principe are the only teams not ranked due to inactivity.
