While many people are anticipating the big day- Valentine’s Day, a day of celebrating love with your significant other, as well as, for some, with friends and family, some have at least one celebrity on their bucket list with whom they would like to spend Valentine's Day. It might seem impossible to have a celebrity go on a date with you especially on Valentines but never say never. We asked Rwandans which local celebrities they would want to spend the day with: Mireille Igihozo, entrepreneur Andy Bumuntu: A fan of the singer, Igihozo didn't even wait until the end of the question. She immediately replied that it would be him without a doubt. She wanted Bumuntu as her Valentine because he has a great voice that complements his good looks. “Andy is a gentle guy and he looks like he could treat someone gently. I would simply sit with him and ask all the questions that I have and then listen to him singing to me live. That would be a perfect valentine date that I would never forget. Yves Kamanzi, network technician Ariel Wayz: For Kamanzi, Ariel Wayz is his number one pick. “She is just a sweet person that I would pretty much enjoy her company on Valentine’s Day. Her great vibes are contagious and her energy is what I like most about Ariel Wayz. I would love to sit and have a conversation with her on different topics about life and mostly how she handles fame. I would ask her to sing a few of my favorite songs because I want to make that night special.” Nadege Umutoni, logistician Christopher: Nadege Umutoni, a huge fan of Christopher’s music said that she would be down to putting everything aside and go with the singer on Valentine's Day. “Meeting him face to face alone would be a dream come true and later on watching him sing specifically for me live is everything. We would just sit and talk because I have like a hundred questions to ask him and just enjoy that unforgettable moment and that is a perfect Valentine date,” she said. Bruno Robert, technical support Tessy: “She is very talented and she doesn’t seem to force acting because it comes naturally for her and that is the thing I like about her,” says Bruno Robert. She seemed to be one of those individuals who speaks truthfully and without pretense. Bruno continued that his valentine date with actress Tessy, real name Divine Gatesi Kayonga would be a casual date with them just chatting about different things and sharing experiences and would of course ask her to do just one small play from the movies she is in. Tom Gakwandi, software engineer Sharon Higa: A big fan of the dancer Gakwandi believes that he would enjoy having her as his valentine on February 14 even though he has not met her personally. “Even though we have never met face to face I feel like I can enjoy her vibes very much. She seems very friendly, a charismatic person and the best dancer today. Because I enjoy dancing, our Valentine's Day date would be a fun time.” Olga Bwiza, sales agent Shaffy: “From the memes he posts on his social media accounts, Shaffy appears to be a kind-hearted man with a funny character and mostly an incredible voice. I highly admire characters with similar personalities,” says Olga Bwiza. I would wish our Valentine date to be a fun experience filled with singing and sharing jokes every minute. Obviously there would be a lot of him singing for me his songs like ‘Faithful’, ‘Akabanga’, ‘Naruguyemo ’and‘ Laurette’ cover.
