OCIR Café, the Rwanda coffee authority is to market the country’s produce to international buyers, slated to meet at Kampala Serena Hotel, Uganda, mid this month. The top executives from around the world will meet to discuss challenges and opportunities in the world coffee industry from 14th and 16th, this month. Participating in this event, it is hoped, will provide a great opportunity for Rwanda to get international coffee buyers. We are specifically targeting new coffee buyers from the Middle East, though we have our traditional buyers, Alfred Mutebwa, the project coordinator OCIR Café said. Adding: This is a coffee season, so, this will also give us an opportunity to boost sales for our coffee, Mutebwa said. Organised by Eastern African Fine coffee Association, the 5th African Fine Coffee Conference and exhibition, is expected to attract over 500 coffee professionals(coffee producers, processors and marketers ) from Eastern Africa Region and from around the world. Coffee producing countries will exhibit their coffees, equipment and other coffee wares. International and regional speakers are also expected to make presentations on a wide range of topics with the key note address, by Neumann Gruppe from Germany. He is an acclaimed green coffee specialist. Membership to Eastern African Fine Coffees Association extends to buyers and coffee specialists from all over the globe and provides market linkages for both buyers and sellers of specialty coffee around the world.Ends
