Main Cup Buffalos 24-0 Gorillas Plate Cup Grizzlies 12-0 Lion des Fers Tournament hosts Remera Buffalos opened their 2008 campaign on a high with a 24-0 demolition of Gorillas to win this year’s Buffalo 7s Main Cup at School of Finance and Banking rugby grounds. Jimmy Mugabo who scooped the MVP proved his class by scoring two of Buffalos’ four tries to dent Gorillas hopes of a comeback. After the tournament, Gerard Nsenga, one of Buffalos’ senior players said that the win underlined the club’s 2008 title credentials. I hope that we can carry the same form into the regular season and lift the championship this year, stated an overjoyed Nsenga. Nsenga also thanked SFB for staging the tournament. On top of lifting the plate cup after a 12-0 win over defending champions ‘Lion des Fers’, UNR Grizzlies were also presented with the ‘best sporting team’ award. The one-day event attracted nine clubs including Burundi’s Rumuli rugby club. Ends
