MTN announces 1st RWf20M winner in new promotion

Amiable Irahoza an Automobile Mechanic was drawn as the first winner of 20 million francs in the ongoing MTN Rwanda millionaire promotion “NiRurangiza”. The “NiRurangiza” promotion which has already made 29 people millionaires has been one of the most successful promotions ever in terms of the number of participants and quality of prizes. Irahoza took part in the promotion and then went off on a business trip to Tanzania. MTN’s Head of Corporate and Legal Services, Paul Mugemangango described the win as a confirmation MTN’s promise to its customers that ‘Everywhere you go’, MTN offers the best products and services. “We are grateful to the support of the media, The FM Radio stations, TV Rwanda and the New Times who have taken the messaged to our customers and supported us in the demonstration in absolute transparency in this promotion,” Mugemangango added. According to Brand and Sponsorship Manager Sylvester Miya, the promotion has attracted thousands of new subscribers to the network ‘...we have witnessed new customers coming on to the network and increased activity in the promotion, evidently our customers have appreciated the value of taking part in NiRurangiza...’ To participate in the promotion, one has to be on the MTN Network. Customers will be required to SMS and send ‘WIN’ or ‘TSINDA’ to short code 180, the automated system will then send the customer a question which must be responded to. Customers will win 20 points for every correct answer and be able to accumulate bonus points the more they participate. To check the number of points they have customers can send an SMS ‘POINTS’ or ‘AMANOTA’Every Friday the system will randomly select participating numbers and with the highest number of points stands a higher chance of being selected as the winner. During the live draw the winning number will be called. If the selected winner does not answer the call, another number will be selected and this will go on until we have a winner live on air. The same process will be used to select the winner of the 20 million prizes. MTN put up 100 million is cash prizes for this promotion. Ends
