Emmanuel Nsengamungu was presented with a Frw 50,000 cheque after playing a hole in one on hole 11 during Saturday’s Fina Bank monthly mug. It was his second time on the Kigali Golf Course having registered the first one during last year’s May edition BCR monthly mug. Nsengamungu who also topped the semi-pro category after carding 72 net said that he was happy about his day’s performance. Hole in ones don’t come easily even at international level so I have every reason to be very excited, the 21-year-old said. Other day’s winners included Fraterne Rubangura, Gavin Cooper, Roger Bayingana and Christine Lebeau. After the day’s play, the club’s president Ezra Bunyenyezi welcomed Fina Bank to the club and thanked them for the initiative. The bank’s General Director Steve Caley on the other hand said that the bank was honored to associate with golf adding that although Fina Bank’s support for the January monthly mug was a one off, the bank will have a long term relationship with Kigali Golf club. The bank is emerging from a period of being quiet and it’s time to show people who we are and what we are doing, Caley said. Fina bank also used the January monthly mug to launch the ‘eclectic’ which according to Caley is a system that will be used to reward golfers with the best scores on all the 18 holes throughout the whole year. The rewarding ceremony for 2008 will be held next January. Ends
