Ugandan renowned musician, Rabadaba, will usher his local fans into the New Year, with a splendid concert at KBC Planet club, in Kacyiru. The much awaited performance is scheduled for Thursday, December 30, and the entrance fee will be at Rwf3,000. DJ Vito, also from Uganda, will spin the wheels till dawn. At the concert, local fans will also have a rare opportunity to rub shoulders with Uganda’s famed Goodlyfe crew Radio and Weasel, who are expected at the concert. George Mugabo, the CEO of Drona Entertainment Company, which organised the event, however, told The New Times, that Weasel and Radio will not perform. He added that Rabadaba will be promoting his seven-track album ‘Musanvu kitundu’ which was launched in Uganda last month. Famous for his hot-off-the-shelf hit, ‘Bwekiri’, the dancehall star, real name Faizal Sseguya, is believed to be on a mission to expand his fan base in the country and enjoy the same popularity, fellow Ugandan artistes such as Chameleon and the Goodlyfe, whose music is famously played on the local FM stations and TV. Rabadaba will be performing for the second time in the country, after his recent involvement with the X-mas Jungle Party in Rubavu. “The concert is set to rock and concertgoers should expect much fun,” Mugabo promised. In October, 2010, Mugabo initiated the Rwandan Night at Club Rouge, in the Ugandan capital, Kampala, which has already hosted several Rwandan artistes including Alpha and Masamba. “The aim of the Night is to promote Rwandan artistes in Uganda, and to build the Rwandan culture in the Uganda society,” he noted.
