Youth ill advised on HIV/Aids

Dear Editor, HIV/Aids seems to have become an ordinary issue in this country to an extent that some people have even resorted to referring to it as a minor illness. Fear of the disease has long since disappeared from people’s hearts. The stigma has died out because people have discovered that one can live with the infection for as long as 25years since ARVs were introduced. In the recent past, it was automatic that the moment one acquired the virus; sickness with outstanding signs and symptoms emerged and death would eventually set in. However, what is most frightening is that the youth are most reckless with their lives. They think they have an assurance of ARVs and yet they are most vulnerable because they are in the most sexually active stage. I encourage the youths to abstain from sex until marriage because it is the best way to prevent Aids. The simple truth is that Aids is still a killer disease. Live responsibly and enjoy life.
