NORTHERN PROVINCE GAKENKE — The mayor Ephaphrodite Mugemingango has asked local leaders of Imidugudu to Sector levels to ensure timely delivery of services to residents. Closing a four-day capacity building seminar for sector accountants, Mugemingango said without time management, accomplishment of programs contained in this year’s performance contracts would be derailed. He cautioned local leaders against diverting money meant for development, to personal use. He advised leaders to consider the sectors they lead as their ‘homes’ which they should develop. The seminar that centred on increasing the capacity of the accountants in financial management, procedures and principles of auditing and accountability, attracted over 15 accountants. The participants promised to use the new acquired skills to facilitate timely submission of financial reports. The district promised to supply laptop computers to the group by year end. The event was facilitated by Community Decentralisation and Development Project -DCDP-operating under the ministry of local government. Ends
