Yvonne Mucyo is the Gasabo District vice Mayor in charge of finance and economic development. Below is how she goes through her typical working day; I wake up at 5a.m, say a prayer and take a bath. I sometimes have breakfast before leaving for work. It takes me about 20 minutes to get to my workplace and by 7a.m I am in the office. Each day has its own arrangement thus the agenda determines what exactly I have to do and when. However, after assigning, I also get down to play my part. This includes responding to what was pending if any, consulting various parties on projects being undertaken as well as ensuring that development activities are going on as expected. I have lunch at around 1p.m and continue with afternoon duties. This includes meeting people from different institutions as well as fellow district stuff. Work goes on until I am done with what I had planned for that particular day. However, I try to ensure that I am home before 8:30p.m. I rarely have supper, especially on the days when I feel so tired. And by so doing, I just take some thing light and call it a night. However, I never get to bed before 10 p.m. Photo G.Mugoyamugoyag@yahoo.com
