CAR15s rugby tourney TodaySilverbacks vs DRCThursdayBurundi vs DRCSaturdaySilverbacks vs Burundi SILVERBACKS head Coach Gerald Nsenga yesterday declared his team ready to go ahead of this year’s CAR 15s tournament which kicks off today at Amahoro stadium. The defending champions open their title defence this afternoon against the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Nsenga is confident the team will prevail. “DRC is a very physical side but we have prepared well for the tournament and should be in position to see them off,” he said. Thursday will see Burundi taking on DRC before Saturday’s climax between Burundi and the silverbacks. “We expect stiff competition this year especially from Burundi. They are very tactical,” Nsenga warned. For the next four days, Silverbacks will rely heavily on the experience of their skipper and full back Vincent Kamali, center forward Koko Cyambara, fly half Lucien Bikamba, scrum half Juma Adams and veteran prop Joseph Bugabo. This year, Rwanda is chasing for a hat-trick after winning the last two editions. Last year, Silverbacks beat Burundi 27-0 to lift the title. Ends
