African artistes must dream beyond Hollywood

Editor, Did you have the privilege of watching the 1970’s film “Love brewed in the African pot “ by Ghanaian director Kwaw Ansah.  Did you ever bump into the 1980’s “XALA” produced by the late Sembene Ousmane from Senegal?  Modern theatre and film consumers around the continent are looking for productions that surpass the quality (and reality) of these now-forgotten classics.  Something that can be easily translated into diverse local settings without losing its punch.
