Rwandan opts for Uganda’s best studio

A new local upcoming artist, Fifi Nshimiyimana, has recorded her debut album ‘Iwacu Si Kure’ in Grayce Records, Uganda’s acclaimed music studio. The beauteous has so far recorded five singles including ‘Bana b’lwacu’, ‘Gushima’ and ‘Ninde Nkatwe’. Nshimiyimana revealed that the reason why she opted for the studio was because she wanted to give her fans the quality compositions. Some of the songs on her album are now played on Uganda’s radios stations, and the album is expected to hit the local music stores this week. The singer also expressed her fear; saying that most Rwandan artists have abandoned traditional music to the modern style. “As much as we admire modern music, we shouldn’t forget our roots. There is a need for artists to promote traditional music, as well as the culture,” Nshimiyimana told The New Times. Rwanda’s legendary traditional musicians influencing Nsimiyimana include Cecile Kayirebwa, Massamba and Jean Paul Samputu. Ends
