CAR15s November 23 – 27 SILVERBACKS have upped their training sessions to four times a week ahead of the Confederation of African Rugby (CAR) 15s that will be hosted in Kigali from November 23-27. The squad, which is currently training at Rugunga playground, will enter residential training on November 20 at Red Cross in Kacyiru and head coach Gerard Nsenga is already counting on the experienced trio of full-back Vincent Kamali, centre forward Koko Cyambara and fly-half Lucien Bikamba to lead from the front. “These three have plenty of experience under their belt and will play a big role in the competition,” Nsenga said. On top of financial support from CAR and Ernst & Young, Rwanda Rugby federation’s Vice president in charge of marketing Alex Araire told Times Sport that he still expects support from the sports ministry and a few other corporate companies. DRC and Burundi, the other teams in contention are expected to jet in on November 21. In the last two years, Rwanda has dominated the tournament. Ends
