Editor, It was interesting to read about the 189 couples in Rubengera Sector, Karongi District, who on Saturday excitedly took marriage vows as part of celebrations to mark the International Day of the rural woman. This only shows how far Rwanda has come to celebrating life and the institution of marriage. It is never too late to get married if 78-year-olds are getting officially married. I would like to call upon the authorities in charge of families and social welfare to organize more mass marriages at least once a year for all those who can’t afford solo marriage ceremonies.
