NYANZA - An ordinary session of the Nyanza District Advisory Council (DAC), last week ordered for an audit of the activities of an interdicted district Executive Secretary, Philbert Murenzi. Murenzi was relieved of his duties last week over alleged incompetence. He was accused of failing in his duties which include carrying out the administrative duties of the district, heading management and technical units, and overall supervision of the public servants. The DAC, which has the final say on the matter, during an ordinary session, last week ruled that an audit should be conducted before a final decision is taken. In an interview with The New Times Monday, Hormisdas Kambanda, the DAC chairman, confirmed the development.“The audit team has already started its work, we shall take a final decision on the matter basing on their findings during an extra-ordinary DAC session next week,” Kambanda told The New Times. He revealed that the embattled official is accused of incompetence manifested in the delay to implement district projects and misallocation of funds. Ends
