Residents of Nemba sector in Gakenke district, on Friday morning, discovered the body of an unidentified man lying by the roadside in Buranga along the Kigali-Gakenke road. Local authorities said the body bore several bruises, the hands were tied at the back and the face was blindfolded with a shirt. Gaspard Habiyaremye, the Executive Secretary of Nemba Sector, said that the body was believed to have been abandoned by unknown assailants. “He appeared to be aged between 30 and 40, but we did not find any documents in his clothes. We called the police to make investigations,’’ Habiyaremye said. He added the body was dressed in cream trousers, black shoes and rain coat. “This has been the first such incident in this area. Residents were all shocked by this gruesome murder. The security here is always guaranteed but we could not suspect anyone in our area since it is along the road,’’ Habiyaremye said. The body was taken to Nemba Hospital for a post-mortem. Meanwhile, last week a woman who killed her husband after a domestic quarrel was arrested and is currently being held at Gakenke Police Station. Ends
