Gosh! Got married for 2 weeks then divorced?

Mystifying! Sometimes reality seems like fiction to some of us till we experience it ourselves. Have you ever experienced this? How did you feel? Imagine you are not alone; your case is simply one out of a thousand. One intriguing case involved a woman who divorced her husband because she did not receive the wedding package she was promised before her marriage. The package included a honeymoon tour around Europe complete with shopping, a car, and as many servants as she wanted. Unfortunately, due to the resultant wedding expenses, the deal was not fulfilled and the woman simply asked for a divorce. “How long have you been married?” “Honestly, two weeks” “Good heavens - what happened?” “I don’t know if I really loved him. We had met in the city and became close for one year, it seemed to me that we were ready for marriage and I introduced him to my parents and soon, we got married. Before and during the wedding he made several promises to me including a honeymoon tour around Europe with shopping included, a car, and as many servants as I would want. I later after divorce discovered that this would not have been possible due to financial constraints as a result of extreme wedding expenses which many were needs from my side. Day and night I kept nagging him and rudely asking for my promises, and all the time I asked, he politely explained to me the reasons why I should wait but I was too impatient. One day I decided not to prepare meals for him because I thought this will make him keep my promise, but he continually apologized and begged for my patience. I had thought, with this kind of approach I would be able to get what I wanted which was not the case. One night at the peak of my nagging and querying he said “Listen, I did not marry you in order to come here and dictate to me what to do, now pack and go,” he removed the ring in my finger and his, pulled me to the toilet and threw them in my presence, I was dumbfounded and helpless I tried to beg for pardon but it was too late. I would really say in brief that due to my demands and a bad temper we disagreed terribly which prompted a divorce”“Now, currently how do you feel about the whole issue?” “Sometimes I have regrets, but I’m now getting used to them, I don’t even care whether I was wrong or not because ‘men are men’, it’s only a matter of whether you are married to one or you have one and not formally married”In some cases, women seek divorce because they see it as a financial gain. Men are sometimes forced to provide their former wives a house, a maid, a driver and monthly expenses for the wife and her children. In many cases, the reasons for seeking divorce are so ridiculous that it becomes very difficult for lawyers to take any stand on the issue. For example, one woman filed for divorce because her husband snored and she didn’t like the sounds he made while eating and sleeping, Speaking about the conditions which allow a woman to file for divorce, a woman is granted divorce if she can prove that her husband physically or mentally tortured her. A woman may also file for divorce if her husband abandons her for a period of three months, or if he has not taken care of her needs or that of their children. However, it is here that the problems begin. In many cases, the women can’t prove that her husband abused her and the court in this case will not grant her divorce if the husband refuses to divorce her. There are women who suffered for years before being granted divorce. Sometimes, women give up many of their rights just to attain freedom. It is very important to educate people on what marriage is really about and parents should be advised on how to bring up their children in such a manner that they realize that there is more to marriage than physical intimacy and material gains. Marriage is about love and compatibility of two people who wish to spend their lives together for no personal gains, but to share all that they have. The society should be well educated about relationships, marriage and love so that women don’t feel marriage is only about a costly wedding, a car and a honeymoon and men don’t see it as relationship that allows physical intimacy.
