Why Harmonize and Ykee Benda are in Kigali Two East African stars; Harmonize of Tanzania and Uganda’s Ykee Benda were over the weekend spotted in Kigali involved different activities that were not announced by any of the singers. However, The New Times has learnt that the ex-member of Wasafi Records touched down in Kigali on Saturday to finalise a track that will feature Bruce Melodie, while Ykee Benda attended his brother's wedding. “Harmonize is here to make final touches of a track that will feature Bruce Melodie. He will also visit different places and interact with Rwandan upcoming artistes,” a trusted source told The New Times. The source further said that the project is being produced by Element at 1:55am Entertainment studio where the young producer is said to have relocated from Country Records. Harmonize is a longtime collaborator of Bruce Melodie and they have made hits together including ‘Totally Crazy’ and ‘The Way You Are’. Apart from attending his brother’s wedding, different reports indicate that Ykee Benda will also resume preparations for Kigampala Festival set to stage in Kigali this year. Harmonize last performed in Rwanda in 2018 under ‘The Mane’, while Ykee Benda was in Kigali last year for the official launch of Kigampala Festival, an annual event that aims at celebrating music, culture and art with an underlying goal to build connection between the Ugandan and Rwandan communities. Harmonize, real name Rajab Abdul Kahali, is a popular name not only in Tanzania but the entire Africa. The star now has his own label dubbed Konde Music Worldwide Label, where he has signed budding talent Ibraah and is yet to sign even more talents. He is one of the musicians who were brought up under Diamond Platnumz’ Wasafi Records (WCB) and later left the label. The award-winning Bongo artiste came to the limelight when he collaborated with Diamond Platnumz on the song “Bado”.
