One of the greatest mistakes single men make in their search for life partners is the use of the blanket rule that in the female species, there are various types of women. Summarised, some women are only good to hang around, to give wild company during a picnic in Gisenyi or a party at Planet Club and there reaches their mission in a man’s life. There are women on the other hand that men want to give their house keys and car; women they buy diamond necklaces; women who make a man miss a night out with the boys and he still feels fine about it. But does it mean that the so-called girlfriends can never settle down to a home and family? Actually, no. I know a very wild girl who shocked us all when she told us she was getting married. It was difficult to imagine her waking up in her own bed for two consecutive weekends, let alone for her entire lifetime. We joked about how her man would have to get used to having a wife who dresses worse than a teenager on an attention-seeking mission; and how a house girl would become a part of their life from day one as it was hard to imagine her cleaning a cooking pan with her manicured nails! Shock on us; two years down the line, this girl has fitted into her role of wife and mother, you’d think she attended training. I also know another much older woman who worked as a barmaid and part prostitute until she got married and got saved, joined church and now she is preaching Jesus while taking care of her ailing husband. If you had asked me, I would have told you that such wild spirits never settle down, not even when the perfect man comes along. In reality, maybe all they are seeking for is people who will love them. And all the virtues of womanhood come sprouting forth. Lazy bones get replaced with amazing industriousness; a gitenge takes the place of tank tops and the seductive hips are now a reserve for her hubby alone. Never write off anyone on the basis of the season of life they are currently in.
