EASTERN PROVINCE BUGESERA — In a bid to prevent criminals posing as transporters, Motorists in Bugesera last week received uniform. The facilities worth about Frw150, 000 were secured through members’ contributions with assistance from COGEAR insurance company. The president of the motorists, under their umbrella cooperative –COTAMOBU- Jean Damascene Girumugabo, said the uniform would help them build trust among their clients and eliminate illegal transporters among them. At least 22 motorists who had reportedly fulfilled all the requirements got the uniforms, at a well-attended ceremony at café de Nyamata. This uniform will help our members to be identified in times of accidents, robbery and other criminal acts. Since our uniforms bear our logos, it will be easy for our members to be identified anywhere, said Girumugabo. He said the facilities would help the members earn more and provide excellent services to residents. He noted that their cooperative would open up a School in Nyamata, to teach members traffic rules and regulations in order to minimize accidents on the newly constructed tarmac road. He said they would also open a language school to teach English and French to solve the problem of language barrier. Our passengers speak different languages. So to a void language barrier, every member has to be able to communicate in more than one language, said Girumugabo.Ends
