Olivier Nkunda, Mathieu Uwizeyimana and Melee Bizimana are all chasing for slots in the main draw of the ITF Rwanda F1 Men’s Futures which gets underway this morning at Laico Umubano Hotel. The qualifications phase has drawn 37 players of which only eight get to qualify for the tournament proper. Rwanda’s top seeds Jean Claude Gasigwa and Dieudonne Habiyambere are already through to the main draw after securing wild cards. The player to beat is Netherlands Middelkoop Matwe, who is 283rd on the ATP rankings. Other elite players in contention include India’s Roy Rupesh (446), Egypts Mohammed Safwat (587), Moroccos Fattar Anas (725) and Uganda’s Duncan Mugabe who is ranked 731. Ends
