Hosts Rwanda are placed in tough Group A alongside Tunisia, Morocco, Angola, and the Central African Republic, whereas Group B consists of Egypt, Algeria, Congo Brazzaville, and Libya. The six nations that will qualify in the junior Africa nations Championship will represent the continent during the U-21 World championship in 2023.
