High flying Etoile de l’Est will return to second division action on January 28 where they will face last season’s semifinalists Interforce at Bugesera stadium on the opening day, at 3:00pm, as per the revised fixture schedule released by local football governing body (Ferwafa). Etoile are only focused on a straight comeback to the top flight league and a win over strugglers Interforce would increase their chances of sealing an early qualification to the group stages. Meanwhile, Gicumbi FC, who sit second in group B, will host Heroes at their home ground in Gicumbi District while table leaders Amagaju FC will host Intare FC at Nyagisenyi Stadium. AS Muhanga will host Vision Jeunesse Nouvelle at Muhanga stadium. All these fixtures will take place on January 28. Standings Group A: Etoile de l’Est (21points), La Jeunesse (16), Vision FC (16), AS Muhanga (14), Kirehe (13), Ivoire Olympique (13), Vision Jeunesse Nouvelle (12), Interforce (7), Aspor (6), Impeesa (4). After the Group Stages, four top teams in each group will play the knockout stages. The four winners will play against each other and the two finalists will be promotion to the 2023/24 Rwanda Premier League.
