Since this year began, artistes, producers and deejays have been churning out hits and many can tell that it is already a good year for Rwanda’s music industry. From Ruti Joel’s Musomandera which is number one album trending in the country, to Nel Ngabo’s new single off his upcoming album, we highlight some of the tracks that are making things happen in Rwanda. Cunda – Ruti Joel Slipping out of car windows and overflowing from pubs, Ruti’s Musomandera is more than an album now, it is influencing style and dance and making an impact on Rwanda’s music industry, and Cunda is among tracks pushing the album to greater heights. The song is among the most trending on different platforms with over 20, 000 views on YouTube following Ibihame and Musomandera which has over 30, 000 streams. Cunda was produced by X on The Beat and mastered by Bob pro. Arampagije – Nel Ngabo After a successful tour in Canada, Nel Ngabo, the youngest member of Kina Music, blessed his fans with the release of the first track on his upcoming album to drop this year. Arampagije was produced and shot in Edmonton-Canada where Nel Ngabo held his first performance outside Rwanda. The track follows back to back hits that the young musician produced in the past including DJ, Kigali and many others. Produced by Clement, Arampagije sits to close 300, 000 streams on different platforms. On Me – Amalon Amalon is plotting his comeback at the top of the music industry and the tracks he’s releasing will surely lead him there. The Afro-pop star is back at the top of charts after releasing On Me which follows H.K.P EP. On me is among many tracks that Amalon produced with renowned producer Dizzo last. It is produced in the new wave of Afro-pop which gives it a unique vibe. Truth or Dare – Davis D The afro-beat star of Rwanda is on a mission to take Rwandan sound overseas and his recently released banger proves it. Afrokilla as he calls himself is now among the most trending musicians in Rwanda after dropping Truth or dare, a slow jam making most kigalians stay on the dancefloor. The single track, produced by Davis D’s manager Bagenzi, has over 100, 000 streams within less than a week. It follows bangers like Boyfriend, Eva, Itara and many others. Mi Flor – 2saint ft. Kivumbi King, Confy, Marashi Yano Mi Flor is, if not the best, one of the track driving parties of Kigali. It brings together young promising artistes from Kivumbi King to Confy and 2saint, all who are making things happen. It was produced by Davydenko and Quba.
