Nothing to smile about

The New Times paper of 11th January had a story that revealed the introduction of a new bus traveling to Sudan and Kigali. This got me more worried, despite the fact that most of the traders interviewed were very happy about it. My worries arise from the numerous bus accidents that have deprived us of our dear ones. Imagine if an accident was to occur in a place as distant as Juba? How many Rwandan families would be able to retrieve their loved ones in time of an accident? Even those accidents that occur in Kabale Uganda strain Rwandese families until government lends a hand. Car accidents are also accidents but we have to remember that almost half of this journey is through very insecure areas {northern Uganda and southern Sudan}. Am not trying to stop people from traveling to these places, but my intention is to pass a note of caution. Most of these accidents can be avoided, if the passengers warn the driver from over speeding. I also wish government would give supervisors to each and every foreign bus that takes our citizen, such that we prevent further loss of Rwandese in accidents. NYAMIRAMBO
