Rwandans in Uganda celebrate Kagame’s victory

KAMPALA - RWANDANS in Uganda Friday gathered at Faze 2 hotel in Kampala to celebrate President Paul Kagame’s election victory. The event was organized by the Rwanda High Commission in Uganda. In his speech, the High Commissioner, Frank Mugambage, commended everyone who participated in the elections saying that they justified their constitutional rights and obligations, as well as showing strong love for their President and country. Mugambage thanked the Rwandan community in Uganda for turning up in large numbers to celebrate the election victory. “I want to take this opportunity on my behalf and on behalf of the President Paul Kagame, for responding to our invitation,” he said. He said the overwhelming 93 percent electoral victory was the decision of the Rwanda people. “The world is now surprised to see where Rwanda has come from and where it is today, but we still have a long way to go and the elections show that Rwandans are focused and determined to ensure development and stability of their country.” The function was also attended by Dr Higiro Semajege, one of the pioneers of UMUBANO, a Uganda-Banyarwanda association.
