Students urged to be good future leaders

SENATOR Joseph Karemera, the chairman of the Senatorial Standing Commission on Political Affairs, has urged students of Riviera High school to strive hard in their studies in order to be good future leaders. He made the call yesterday while officiating at the graduation ceremony for the class of 2010 Senior three and Senior six students of the school. “We strongly believe that you are the future of our nation if you perform excellently in your studies,” he said.Karemera who is also the Board Chair of the Academic Committee of Riviera,called upon all students to be disciplined. He challenged the young students to believe in themselves and focus on success, as they prepare to become “leaders of tomorrow”. “If you believe in yourself, you will have overcome the first obstacle to achieving success,” he said. He added that people who believe in themselves perform better, they are not afraid to ask questions and to perform well in all their endeavours. Anthony Cooke the Principal of the school, called upon parents who had turned up for the occasion to continue giving their children the same support and encouragement they provided while they were at Riviera High School. “This step is only the beginning. They have higher mountains to conquer,” he said. Riviera High School is a secondary school with over 460 students mainly from Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Cameroon and Benin. Ends
