Second division league strugglers Impeesa have all their eyes on new head coach Suleiman Niyibizi as the man to rescue the club from being relegated to the third division which will be introduced next season. The tactician signed for the Kigali-based club on Monday, January 16, on a five-month deal that will keep him at the club until May when the second division league concludes. He replaced Clever Pierre Rwibutso who parted ways with the club due to a torrid run of results where the team managed only one win in the last nine league games so far this season. The club now sit at the bottom of the Group A table and could find themselves relegated to the third division should Niyibizi fail to turn the results around during the team’s remaining league games. The club management tasked the tactician to keep them in the second division with only nine games left to end the group games. “Next season, the third division league will start and Impeesa are so far a candidate to play it given the fact that they are at the bottom of the table. That's why I am here to help them avoid relegation because they want to play second division football next season,” Niyibizi told Times Sport. Asked on why he signed a short term contract, the former Miroplast coach said that it doesn’t bother him because he has offers on table to consider before deciding on his future. “I’m here to help this team in a short time, I have other offers that l am still negotiating,” he explained. Impeesa, who sit bottom of Group B table with four points, will return to action on January 29, where they will host Ivoire Olympique at Camp Kigali ground.
