Show me the money? Premiership is broke this year

Times are hard, only Man City are flashing the cash and the rest are as broke as each other. The world cup usually means that money is splashed around, new stars are harder to find because most players are scouted in advance. So clubs try to reform old players already on the books, Man U remembered they had Nani, I was watching Mexico and thought we should sign Giovani Dos Santos, but he was already a Spurs player. The recession has hit football really badly, normally fans spend more during a downturn, but the debt in football is too much. So maybe the world cup hangover has killed my appetite for football, my beloved Holland were cheated of the title as Spain dived their way to the greatest prize in football. The lowest low of the year was Ghana and more precisely Luis Suarez and his goalkeeping, he can play two positions. That said, I would love if spurs signed him. So it was a huge anticlimax to hear of the Charity shield last weekend. The new season had flown under the radar but we have a lot to look forward to. Man City steal all the headlines, the might spend $200m by the end of the month, but they still won’t have much class. Mario Balotelli, James Milner, and Jerome Boateng are good signings but they need that midfield maestro to run the show. Chelsea signed David Silva from Valencia and sold the creaking old man Ricardo Carvalho, John Terry is in need of a revival as he had a really bad year and a terrible world cup. Didier Drogba will be out for the first two months of the season after knee surgery, so they need to have a good replacement until he comes back. Man U has the biggest debt of all, so no major signings were expected so just Hernandes from Mexico is the only signing. Man U will hope their aging creative core of Giggs and Scholes will survive the hard season. They will be hoping Berbatov has a good season, Nani will have to stay fit, and Rooney will have to overcome his burnout.Arsenal have signed the intelligent Chamakh, he will complement Bendtner and Van Persie. The gunners have to find a way to get Walcott to use his pace for more than kick and run football. The question is whether they can have a striker to score 20 goals, Fabregas was their top-scorer and top assister but is too burdened. Aaron Ramsey is a great player, Jack Wilshere is very talented but needs time and the defence is still leaky, plus a goalie hasn’t been found so I cannot see a Gunner challenge. My Team Tottenham are going to struggle to play two games a week, playing Champion’s league and the league is gruelling, so they will need all the luck in the world.
