APR Basketball Club have signed Congolese guard Rolly Fula Nganga on a one-year contract. A reliable source from the club confirmed to Times Sport that the player has already arrived in the country and could feature for the army side’s squad ahead of the league opener against IPRC-Musanze Saturday, January 14, at Kepler University court. Nganga’s addition is the latest of APR's many mega trades made going into the new season, having signed the likes of point guard Jean-Jacques Wilson Nshobozwabyosenumukiza, power-forward Axel Mpoyo and power forward Elie Kaje. They also signed guard Ntore Habimana, center Bush Wamukota, and US-based power forward Dan Manzi Kimasa. Nganga, 29, has vast basketball experience, having featured for various clubs in his native DR Congo, including ASB Soyo de Matadi, Ravens and Mazembe. In October 2021, he was on the roster of Espoir Fukash during the 2022 BAL Qualifying Tournaments. He scored 29 points in the decisive game against AS Police to help the team qualify for the 2022 BAL season. His game-high 29 points were also key in Espoir's first-ever league win over Cape Town last year. During the 2022 BAL regular season, Nganga averaged a team-high 18.4 points per game on 40.2 percent shooting from the field, along with 5.6 rebounds. In November 2022, he was on the roster of Bangui Sporting Club during the 2023 Road to BAL.
