Rachel’s Ramblings : Passion for the bad boy

This is something that has beaten many people’s understanding especially parents whose innocent girls have fallen head first into this trap. No one will ever understand why a home girl will be so intrigued by a typical bad boy. And by bad boy I don’t mean a murderer, thief or rapist. A bad boy is one who forces your dad to pull out a shot gun every time he sets foot near your place. The one you look at and know that he’s hiding something. The one who will never say ‘I love you’ at the time you want him to. The one who for some reason thinks he’s above the law. A mystery at its best. They are usually attracted to so many women at the same time and that he has gone to fourth base with at least half of them is an understatement! Their ability to lie and charm the socks off your feet is nothing short of professional. Usually when in a relationship, he will do almost everything that tells you it’s not going anywhere. But for some reason you can swear that your life revolves around him and that the end of the relationship literally means death to you. It’s something you can’t quite understand yourself. Your friends always spot him with a different girl every time theysee him. Being the bad boy that he is, he makes no effort to pretend because he knows you always believe what he tells you. It’s no wonder you think all your girlfriends are just nosy and jealous. He drinks like there will be a ban of alcohol the next day and comes back home smelling like he’d literally been thrown in a pool of liquor. If he doesn’t smoke cigarettes…there’s always something else he smokes! You’ll be pretty lucky or plain strong if he doesn’t misguide you into the habit because at this point you could do just about anything for him and if he wants you to smoke then to hell with it, you will smoke! He honestly doesn’t give a rat’s ass what people think. Hate him or love him. That’s usually his motto because for a reason only known to him, people never understand him. He is usually insanely attractive which is of course why you fell for him in the first place. He is such a sweet talker that he could easily convince a nun to strip! Some bad boys go beyond being bad and become evil getting to the point of battering their women. But call it charm, witchcraft or sheer madness, you just can’t leave the twisted chap! He usually gives you what you want but to him that’s just buying you off so you have no reason to complain about his behavior. That’s where you are stuck. You know for a fact that he has a dozen girls who would jump at the chance to take your place so you’d rather suffer in silence than give them the satisfaction. Testing to see how much he loves you by throwing tantrums and threatening to walk out the door is not an option because knowing him; he won’t come running after you. When he’s good he’s really good. That’s about the only hope you’re clinging to. The biggest problem is that his friends don’t make issues any better. They’re usually deadlier than he is! How he will ever change with the likes of such people around him is a question you are not so sure there’s an answer to. The funny part about it all is when women eventually snap out of it and move on to ‘greater’ things, they look back at that time and wonder how the hell they wasted all that precious time on him!
