Rwanda Athletics Federation (RAF) is set to host their ordinary general assembly tomorrow (Sunday) at their federation headquarters at Amahoro stadium, Remera. All national athletics clubs in the country have been invited to attend the one-day meeting aimed at studying the action plan for 2008 season among others. RAF Secretary Genera, Appolinaire Munyangoga told Times Sport yesterday that the meeting will tackle issues ranging from studying last year’s federation’s activities to preparations for this year’s continental and World championships. Munyangoga said, “We also plan to release the federation’s strategic plan. It has been under scrutiny by experts and this is the right time to share it with all the members”. The federation strategic plan includes the federation’s activities to be done for a four-year period, that between now and 2012. However, top on the agenda is the federation’s study on this year’s action plan and preparation for this year’s championships, local and international. According to Munyangoga, the athletics federation plans to find means of having many representatives in various World championships and the next Olympic Games in Beijing, China in August as well as the World Cross Country championship slated for March in Edinburgh, Scotland. Other major issues to be discussed would be national championship and the interclub competition. Ends
