Today’s fixtures Atraco v Etincelles, 3:30pm Police v Rayon Electrogaz v Military Kibuye v APR Marines v Mukura AS Kigali v Kiyovu All eyes will be on Raoul Shungu this afternoon when he starts life as Rayon Sports coach for the third spell against an in-form Police Fc at Gitarama stadium. Troubled at the moment, Rayon will be out and about to resurrect their crumbling season and end a run of two games without a win. One win in four matches, isn’t the kind of form one would expect from a side supposed to be challenging the likes of APR and Atraco for the league title. Absence of several first team players has seen the blues fail to halt a wretched run which saw them slip eight points behind leaders Atraco. Players that include Labama Bokota, Kalisa Mao, Kalisa Kase and Djunga Taribo have all not reported back to the club, something that could further hinder Shungu’s ‘dream’ homecoming. “I will field the best players who qualify to be in tomorrow’s (today) fixture. Rayon has gone two games without a win and winning is the way forward for this club,” Shungu said. Facing an in-form Police side, which is coached by one of several former Rayon coaches, Bernard Ndiki, is not the ideal fixture to seek stability. Police goes into today’s game without Oscar Yahaya who is serving suspension but could as well profited from Rayon’s out-of-sorts start to the new season. Ndiki’s side is currently occupy sixth position with six points, two ahead of today’s opponents who are seventh on the league table after four rounds of matches. Elsewhere, leaders Atraco host Etincelles at Shorongyi grounds seeking to maintain their amazing start to the new season that has seen them win their first four matches. Jean Marie Ntagwabira’s side have maximum 12 points, level with Kiyovu but with a superior goal difference of two. Kiyovu cannot afford slipping up against another in-forms side; AS-Kigali at Mumena stadium, especially APR breathing down their neck in third. The champions on ten points travel to the Western Province to face Kibuye at Gatwaro stadium. After being held a disappointing one-all draw against newly promoted side Electrogaz in their previous outing, Andy Mfutila can not afford any further slip-ups if his team is to have any chance of defending their title. Kibuye, coached by another one of several former Rayon coaches, Rene Kalimunda, have not won a single game this season, after four matches, they have lost thrice with only a draw against AS-Kigali in their opening game accounting for their one point. Kalimunda will be without midfielder Richard Niyitunga who was red carded in the 0-3 reverse against Police last weekend. Mukura, without defender Canisius Nshimiyimana, travel to Gisenyi to take on Marines. New boys, Electrogaz and Military face off at Camp Kigali grounds. Ends
