Canal Plus Rwanda has announced that it will broadcast the highly anticipated African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2023 tournament that will take place in Algeria from January 13 to February 4. The three-week tournament, which brings together teams of players playing in their national league competitions, comes with a special promotion where people with an Ikaze subscription of just Rwf5,000 will be able to follow all the matches live on Canal+ Sport 1 and Canal+ Sport 2 channels. “Canal Plus will broadcast all the CHAN 2023 matches. At only Rwf5,000, people will be able to follow their favorite African teams,” Sophie Tchatchoua, the Managing Director of Canal Plus Rwanda, told journalists during a press briefing held at the company’s headquarters Tuesday, January 10. This is the first gift that we have for our clients, and more to come. But we don’t have just the CHAN, we have got the Spanish Super Cup and other sports events,” she added. Although Rwanda failed to book a ticket to Algeria, Tchatchoua insists there is still a lot to enjoy at CHAN 2023 where people want to see if Morocco continue to impress after their World Cup heroics or even how neighboring countries like Uganda and DR Congo will perform. Hosts Algeria, which will face Libya in an opening match on Friday, January 13 at the Nelson-Mandela Stadium in Baraki at 16:00 (GMT) while Ethiopia will face Mozambique in another Group A match at 19hrs (GMT). Besides CHAN 2023, Canal Plus has also agreed to broadcast the Spanish Super Cup for the next five years. The agreement takes effect with the upcoming five-day Super Cup which kicks off Wednesday, January 11, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia where Real Madrid take on Valencia at 9:00pm Kigali time. The mini tournament will be broadcast live on Canal+ Sport 5. People with Ikaze subscription will be able to follow it after Canal Plus initiated a 15-day bonus to access all channels to all existing clients who will renew their canal + bouquet starting from January 11. This means, if you have bought Ikaze bouquet (Rwf5000) and you renew it before January 25, you will receive a 15-day bonus of Zamuka bouquet (Rwf 20,000). “Making this affordable is to ensure no one is left behind.
